At the Pennhof, we have been living the organic philosophy with deep conviction for exactly 20 years. At that time, we converted our farm from conventional dairy farming to organic farming with the production of meat and other organic products. We also wanted to adapt our guesthouse to the farm and so we developed the idea of the Biohotel Pennhof with chalet.
Right from the start, we made sure that the Pennhof was truly a biohotel in South Tyrol in every respect: From construction to sustainable purchasing to the way we treat our products, nature and the people who live, work or spend their holidays with us. Part of this philosophy is also the decision to limit the size of the hotel. We have room for a maximum of 40 guests, which means we can cater for everyone's wishes and always maintain direct contact with them. In short: At the Pennhof you arrive as guests and leave as friends! Our guests can tell us their wishes and intolerances directly when they check in. Whether vegetarian, preference for raw food or histamine intolerance, we try to meet our guests' needs every day. It is a challenge we gladly accept and one that gives us joy, because in this way we create satisfaction and well-being.
Speaking of joy, the many encounters we can have thanks to our passion for the topic of 'organic' are for us the best aspects of our work. On the one hand, there are our employees who take this theme to heart and consistently put it into practice in their private lives. Then there are the many guests who are environmentally aware and often also active in this area. This always leads to interesting and stimulating conversations. An important moment for us was the meeting with members of the environmental organisation Sea Shepherd from Washington, which is committed to protecting the oceans and was a guest of the Pennhof a few months ago. We spent some nice evenings with them with enriching discussions.
Another enrichment - both for us and for the guests - are the meetings with suppliers. When our producer Natale from the Apulian company Mia Terra is our guest, it is always something special. He brings wonderful ingredients from his own land and creates delicious Mediterranean dishes for our guests. On his last visit, he spoiled us with homemade orecchiette pasta with turnip tops and Mia Terra olive oil - a culinary dream!
For us, the Pennhof is a meeting place and a place where we can experience our passion for nature and its precious treasures in new ways. Perhaps soon we will also welcome you and share these special experiences with you?
